Infraready introduced this style of beam shaped laser as the Human eyes are particularly good at detecting edges by contrast.  The projected grid basically causes a mental pixilation within which the eyes easily see any resulting distortion emerge compared to when using standard star pattern grids.

As our eyes respond differently to certain colours of light, we choose to use a green laser over the red colour other supplier use as it is the colour our eyes are most sensitive to.

This laser matrix differs to the majority of others commonly seen during ghost hunts.  Rather than emit an array of small dots to form a grid, it projects a square grid pattern that can be observed or recorded on camera more clearly.
