GoPro Hero 12 Black: Full Spectrum & Ultra Low-Light Edition

Take your nighttime investigations and low-light expeditions to the professional level. This modified GoPro Hero 12 Black has been precision-engineered to see beyond the limits of the human eye, capturing light from the Ultraviolet (UV) and Infrared (IR) spectrums.

Pair this camera with our high-output 850nm or 940nm IR Illuminators for the ultimate “zero-light” filming setup.

The Full Spectrum Advantage

By removing the internal IR-cut filter, this unit becomes sensitive to light sources typically invisible to standard cameras. When paired with an infrared illuminator, the Hero 12 transforms into a high-definition night vision powerhouse, perfect for:

Key Technical Upgrades

• Custom 6mm f1.0 Lens: Unlike the standard GoPro lens, this ultra-fast $f/1.0$ aperture lens is designed specifically for “Super Low Light” performance, pulling in maximum photons even before you turn on your IR lights.

• Full Spectrum Modification: The internal glass has been replaced to allow UV, Visible, and IR light to reach the sensor simultaneously.

• Modular Versatility: Unique to this modification, the camera retains full compatibility with GoPro’s additional converter lenses (such as the Max Lens Mod), allowing for an ultra-wide field of view without sacrificing full spectrum capabilities.

⚠️ Modification Disclaimer & Maintenance

Note: When manufactured, the GoPro 12 Black is a sealed unit, we have to carefully cut the casing under the point of the case where the display is bonded.  As a result, while a clean cut is made to access the internal lens assembly, as with all modifications of this nature, signs of the modification process are evident.

Water Resistance: Please be advised that to perform this conversion, the factory-sealed unit must be opened. While the camera is resealed during assembly, it is no longer waterproof. * Do not submerge the unit.

• Avoid exposure to heavy rain, mist, or high humidity.

• If use in wet environments is required, the camera must be placed inside a suitable external watertight housing.

Colour Balance: In daylight, images will appear with a pink/magenta hue due to the Full Spectrum modification. This is normal. To achieve “natural” colours for daytime use, an external IR-cut filter is required.

We use a selection of new and used cameras, depending on availability.  In all cases, the GoPro 12 Modified Full Spectrum Conversion will be supplied with battery and charging cable.
