This Retro Valve Effect Radio is a Real Stunner. Not only is it a Linear Sweep Ghost Box, it also doubles as a handy Bluetooth speaker to connect your smartphone or similar devices.
Powered by an internal rechargeable battery, just switch on the box and it will simple sweep the FM radio band backwards and forwards in a smooth linear sweep.
On the side of the box is a toggle switch that allows the user to set the sweep rate to auto or variable mode which in conjunction with the speed control allows a faster or slower rate of sweep.
The full auto mode basically works like a shack hack or hacked radio with a pre-defined speed which goes slow if the volume peaks, so when it receives a signal it will slow down for approx half a second and then it’ll speed up again. In manual mode, the tuner dial on the front of the box can be rotated fully to the right to engage random sweep mode. the LEDs mounted in the valves will also flash in a random sequence. If the tuner control is then backed off until the LED lights fade smoothly, the box enters linear sweep mode.
